How to Buy

How do I purchase an item?

  1. Click Sign Up in the upper right of the page
  2. Create a free CastBack account
  3. Click on the item listing
  4. Click the blue Buy now button
  5. Enter your payment details
  6. Click the Confirm and pay [$X] button

Buyers do not need to register with Stripe to make purchases.


How do I know the condition of an item?

Providing an item's condition is a mandatory field when posting a listing. While not an exact science, an item's condition will be listed as one of the following:

  • Excellent
  • Good
  • Fair
  • Poor

How do offers work?

Just like negotiating in a physical marketplace, you can make offers on CastBack if you want to try and get an item for a lower price than it's listed for.

When in the item's listing, scroll down the About the listing author section and click Contact to open a chat thread.

NOTE: All offers must occur on CastBack's website. It is a breach of our Terms of Service to redirect transactions off of the platform. Exchanging phone numbers, explicit requests to leave the site, and similar tactics will subject the user to a permanent ban and possible litigation for lost sales.

Payment & Fees

What payment methods are accepted?

Payments are securely managed through Stripe, a reputable online payment processing service that allows CastBack to accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, debit cards, as well as payments from mobile wallets and buy now, pay later services.


When will I be charged for my purchase?

Payments occur after the seller has shipped the item.

There is a 7 day waiting period for the first payout. This delay is necessary for risk mitigation and cannot be waived under any circumstances. Future payment times are reduced to 3 business days after the initial waiting period.

Bank processing can also be delayed by weekends and holidays. Once the bank has finished processing your payment, the funds will be deposited into the seller's account automatically.


Are there any fees for buyers?

CastBack fees are paid exclusively by sellers. Buyer's are still expected to pay all applicable taxes, along with any shipping costs listed by the seller.

Shipping

How can I track my order?

Since shipping is currently handled by sellers outside of CastBack, we encourage buyer's to request a tracking number and shipping insurance from the seller.

Our business roadmap includes integrating a shipping feature into our site.

Order Issues

What type of buyer's protection is there?

To ensure your transactions and financial information are secure, we use Stripe - a reputable online payment processing service.


How do returns and refunds work?

As of August '25, CastBack is no longer able to facilitate return and/or refund transactions. The ability to select a return/refund period has been removed from our Post a Listing options and all transactions on the website henceforth are considered "All Sales Final."
